The course rarely ties into any of the other first year courses. Heavily relies on what [insert random historian] said about the subject of the lesson. Lessons are informative, but niche and not very useful. Seminars are very discussion based, so if you're the only one carrying the class or refusing to talk, it's a waste of an hour (plus whatever travel time).

Exam is weighted very heavily, so prepare to study. Any AI or Wikipedia entry can give you the information you need about a given subject. Use exam banks provided by Queens, they are pretty accurate to both the midterms and finals. Don't bother reading the textbook, and skim through the readings. Doing this gets you my grade, at least.
